In addition to our involvement with access issues, another area of concern for the ICA is safety. We all rely on bolts almost every time we start to climb a route in an area like Jackson Falls, but most of us don’t give much thought to what the bolts looks like beneath the surface. Although bolts are quite safe, they are not indestructible. If you’ve ever wondered where your membership money goes, this is a big one. An important mission of the ICA is replace hardware on routes to keep climbers at Jackson as safe as possible.
