jeffA little bit about me. I am an avid outdoor enthusiast and greatly enjoy  mountain biking, backpacking in the mountains, and road biking. However, my true outdoor passion is climbing. I started climbing in Germany in 1995 and have climbed on and off since then, having become very passionate about climbing in the last 5 years.

I have always believed that to protect our sport we, as climbers, need to take a grass roots effort to ensuring we have access to the areas the we love and enjoy to recreate on. It is this motivation that has driven me to become involved with the Illinois Climbers Association. I believe that for the ICA to be an effective and powerful organization it needs support from the climbing community in large numbers. With the help of the climbing community we can enlist our fellow climbers to let their voices be heard, lobby to protect access to our recreation areas, and eventually expand into recreation areas not currently available to our sport but with special interest to our climbing community.

It is my goal to grow the ICA in numbers to include all climbers that recreate in Southern Illinois. We have created different membership levels to ensure that all climbers can let their voices be heard and throw in the level of support they can afford.

I believe that the board members are here to support the climbing community. If you have any ideas or suggestions to help me with the goal of the ICA please feel free to contact me at (jeff-at-ilclimbers-dot-org)
